Over 800kg of drugs seized in 3 provinces — Pajhwok

KABUL (Pajhwok): More than 800 kilograms of various types of drugs have been seized in northwestern Nimroz, northern Takhar and northeastern Badakhshan provinces, the Ministry of Interior (MoI) said on Tuesday. In a post on X, the ministry said that anti-narcotics forces had prevented the smuggling of more than 800kg of narcotics in separate operations in Nimroz, Takhar and Badakhshan. It said about 649kg of drugs were seized in Nimroz, 85kg in Takhar and another 74kg in Badakhshan. The ministry added that eight people had been arrested in connection with the smuggling of the drugs and would be handed over to judicial and legal authorities after initial investigations.
