2 brothers arrested over alleged killing of maternal cousin in Herat — Pajhwok

HERAT CITY (Pajhwok): Two brothers have been arrested in western Herat province for allegedly killing their maternal cousin, the provincial police said. In a statement, the police said the incident occurred over an “honor-related dispute” and that the suspects were arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department of Herat police. Herat police spokesman Sayed Masoud Hosseini said security forces identified and arrested both suspects following investigative and operational efforts. He said one of the detainees was the main suspect in the killing, while his brother allegedly assisted him in committing the crime. According to Hosseini, both suspects confessed to the crime during preliminary investigations. The statement said the case would be referred to judicial and legal authorities after the investigation is completed, in accordance with the law.
