KABUL (Pajhwok): One person has been killed and 11 others injured in a fresh Houthi attack on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia’s General Authority of Civil Aviation says. Türkiye has strongly condemned the attack. The Saudi Gazette, citing the General Authority of Civil Aviation, reported that a Pakistani national was killed and 11 other people were injured in the attack. The injured were taken to hospitals for treatment, while assessments of the damage to the airport and the safety of its facilities were under way, the report said. Meanwhile, Türkiye’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly condemned the Houthi attack on King Khalid International Airport, saying that targeting civilian facilities and civilians was a clear violation of international law and international humanitarian principles. The ministry said such attacks, which threaten regional security and stability, must stop immediately. Ankara also reiterated its support for Saudi Arabia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. Al Jazeera reported that the Houthis had claimed responsibility for the attack. The group’s military spokesman, Yahya Saree, said its forces had carried out several operations targeting King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh. The latest attack follows a deadly Houthi strike on the same airport last Saturday, in which 12 people were killed and 309 others injured.
