KABUL (Pajhwok): The Ministry of Public Works (MoPW) says 600 tonnes of cotton have been exported to Türkiye via the Khaf-Herat railway and Iran’s rail network. Mohammad Ashraf Haqshinas, the ministry’s spokesman, said in a post on X on Thursday that the shipment had been dispatched that day. He said the shipment was part of efforts to expand Afghanistan’s trade and transit ties with regional countries and make better use of the country’s transit capacity and export routes. Haqshinas described the Khaf-Herat railway as an important transit route linking Afghanistan with Iran and facilitating the transport of commercial goods to other countries through the regional rail network. He added that expanding the railway network could help reduce transport costs and delivery times, boost exports and strengthen Afghanistan’s economic cooperation with regional countries.
