UNICEF provides safe drinking water to 10,000 people in Nuristan — Pajhwok

KABUL (Pajhwok): The United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) has provided portable drinking water to nearly 10,000 people in eastern Nuristan province. In a post on X, UNICEF said the project had been implemented with support from the European Union (EU). It said the project played an important role in preventing waterborne diseases and protecting the health of children and families. It added the initiative was part of ongoing efforts to provide safe drinking water to vulnerable communities across Afghanistan. “The water was bitter and made us sick. Now we have clean water here and I am happy,” said 8-year-old Tamana.
