KABUL (Pajhwok): At least six people have been killed and 15 others wounded, including police officers and foreign nationals, in a shooting in central Krakow, southern Poland, Al Jazeera reported. Police said a man drove into the city’s Main Market Square at around 3pm (14:00 GMT) on Saturday and “began firing at random people from his car”. Four women and two men were killed. Officers shot and detained the suspect, who acted alone, before taking him to hospital for treatment. Polish police chief Marek Boron said a British national was among those killed, while five foreigners were among the wounded. Two victims had yet to be identified. The Interior Ministry confirmed that the suspect was a Polish citizen. Interior Minister Marcin Kierwinski said he appeared to be “fascinated by far-right ideologies” and held “ultra-nationalist views”. A police spokesperson said two officers were injured when the suspect returned fire during his arrest. Kierwinski said one of them was in critical condition. Several weapons were found in the suspect’s car, while police said he was wearing military-style clothing and used a semi-automatic rifle similar to the US AR-15.
