Herat exports 10,000sqm of carpets to Germany — Pajhwok

KABUL (Pajhwok): More than 10,000 square metres of handwoven carpets have been exported from western Herat province to Germany since the beginning of the current year, local officials said on Wednesday. In a post on X, the Herat governor’s office said the carpets, worth $103,000, had been exported to Germany since the start of the year. The office said Herat’s carpets enjoyed a strong position in international markets because of their high quality, traditional craftsmanship and authentic designs. It added that the local administration was supporting the carpet industry by facilitating the expansion of domestic and international markets to help boost exports.
