KABUL (Pajhwok): Afghan-Iran Joint Chamber of Commerce Chairman Kamaluddin Tawhid has called for easier visa procedures for Afghan and Iranian traders, expanded bilateral trade and joint investment and greater attention to the concerns of Afghan businesspeople residing in Iran’s Kerman province. In a statement, the Afghan-Iran Joint Chamber of Commerce said Tawhid made the remarks while addressing the 10th meeting on the development of economic cooperation between Afghanistan and Iran’s Kerman province. Tawhid highlighted the historical, cultural and economic ties between Afghanistan and Iran, describing Kerman as one of Iran’s key economic hubs. He said the province’s potential in mining, agriculture, industry, energy and exports provided a strong foundation for expanding bilateral cooperation. He also stressed the need to facilitate visa issuance and cross-border travel for businesspeople, support joint investment, promote the transfer of technical knowledge and technology, and address the problems faced by Afghan traders living in Kerman. He called on the relevant authorities to strengthen cooperation in these areas. Tawhid also invited Kerman’s officials, investors and business leaders to visit Afghanistan as part of an economic and trade delegation to explore investment opportunities and strengthen cooperation between the two countries.
