KABUL (Pajhwok): More than 205,000 Afghan citizens traveled to Uzbekistan for business purposes during the first six months of 2026, making Afghanistan the leading source of business visitors to the neighboring country. According to Kun.uz, citing data from Uzbekistan’s National Statistics Committee, a total of 228,615 foreign nationals visited Uzbekistan for commercial purposes during the first half of the year. The report said 205,937 Afghan citizens entered Uzbekistan for business activities during this period, accounting for the highest number of business visitors among all foreign nationals. Turkmenistan ranked second with 16,322 visitors, followed by Tajikistan with 4,320 visitors. The statistics also show that 628 citizens of Kyrgyzstan, 311 citizens of Kazakhstan, 230 citizens of Russia, and 188 citizens of Turkey traveled to Uzbekistan for business purposes during the same period. Business visitors from all other countries combined totaled 679 people, according to the figures.
