First shipment of Herat black stone exported to US — Pajhwok

KABUL (Pajhwok): A private company has exported the first shipment of black stone from the Zindajan mine in western Herat province to the United States, valued at $100,000. In a statement posted on X on Wednesday, the Herat governor’s media office said the shipment was Afghanistan’s first mineral export consignment. The statement said the consignment contained black stone extracted from the Zindajan mine and was exported to the US market through the Herat Chamber of Industries. The provincial media office said the move could mark an important step towards expanding Afghanistan’s mineral exports and strengthening the country’s presence in international markets. It added that Herat, one of Afghanistan’s key economic provinces, has a significant role in boosting exports due to its rich mineral resources, strategic trade location and industrial potential.
