More than 716,000 tonnes of goods transported by rail last month — Pajhwok

KABUL (Pajhwok): The Ministry of Public Works (MoPW) says 716,300 metric tonnes of goods were transported through Afghanistan’s railway network from June 22 to July 22, including 2,838 tonnes of Afghan exports. Mohammad Ashraf Haqshenas, spokesperson for the MoPW, said today (Saturday) on X that the goods were transported through four railway routes during the period. According to the ministry, 483,388 metric tonnes of goods were transported through Hairatan, 60,546 tonnes through Aqina, 71,905 tonnes through Torghundi and another 100,461 tonnes through the Khaf-Herat railway. Haqshenas added that 2,838 metric tonnes of the total goods transported were Afghan exports. The Ministry of Public Works said it would continue its efforts to facilitate rail transportation and boost trade.
