47 weapons, ammunition seized, 2 suspects held in Paktia — Pajhwok

KABUL (Pajhwok): About 47 various types of weapons and ammunition have been discovered and seized in Dand Patan district and along the Gardez-Zormat highway in southeastern Paktia province, officials said. In a statement, the Paktia Police said forces from the Khalid bin Walid unit seized 30 pistols and 13 Kalashnikov rifles along the Gardez-Zormat highway. The statement added that security forces also seized two Kalashnikov rifles, one M16 rifle, one grenade launcher, 5,000 M4 rounds, 900 Kalashnikov rounds, six grenade rounds, 250 PKM rounds, one bag of PKM ammunition and 22 Kalashnikov magazines in the Nari area of Dand Patan district. The police said two people were also arrested in connection with the weapons. The suspects will be handed over to judicial and legal authorities after preliminary investigations, the statement added.
