4 arrested in Kandahar on murder, robbery charges — Pajhwok

KANDAHAR CITY (Pajhwok): Police in Arghandab district of southern Kandahar province have arrested four people on charges of robbery and murder. Mullah Asadullah Jamshid, spokesman for the Kandahar police, told Pajhwok Afghan News on Tuesday that the suspects were arrested by security forces in Arghandab based on intelligence information. He said the suspects had allegedly shot dead a man some time ago in the Sra Qala area of Daman district and stolen his Alto car. Jamshid said the suspects were initially wanted on suspicion of stealing solar generators belonging to local residents. However, during questioning, they allegedly confessed to involvement in the murder in Daman district. He said security forces had recovered the victim’s stolen car in Spin Boldak district and that it would be handed over to the victim’s family after the completion of legal procedures. Jamshid added that the suspects would be referred to the relevant judicial authorities after the initial investigation was completed.
