KABUL (Pajhwok): The European Union (EU) has allocated 11 million euros to strengthen veterinary services, improve animal health, enhance food security and support climate-resilient livelihoods in Afghanistan. In a post on its X account, the EU Delegation in Afghanistan said the programme would benefit around 300,000 families across 17 provinces. It said the funding aimed to strengthen the livestock sector and improve the resilience of vulnerable communities to the impacts of climate change. It added: “At the Afghanistan Veterinary Workforce Development Symposium, the EU Delegation highlighted €11 million in DCA funding to strengthen veterinary services, animal health, food security and climate-resilient livelihoods for 300,000 families in 17 provinces.”
