Over 65,000 returnee families allocated residential land plots: MoUDH — Pajhwok

KABUL (Pajhwok): The Ministry of Urban Development and Housing (MoUDH) says 65,154 residential land plots have been allocated to returnee families across the country so far. In a statement, the ministry said that, under its leadership, the Committee for the Permanent Settlement of Returnees and Land Allocation has continued distributing residential land plots to returnee families in various provinces. It said that more than 1,000 returnee families in five provinces had received residential land plots for permanent settlement. According to the statement, 693 returnee families in Nangarhar, 108 in Paktika, 112 in Nimroz, 150 in Faryab and 100 in Bamyan were allocated residential land plots. The ministry said that, based on these figures, a total of 1,163 returnee families received residential land plots on that day alone. It added that, so far, 65,154 returnee families have been allocated residential land plots across the country under the land distribution programme and that the process is continuing in an organised and swift manner. The residential land distribution programme is being implemented to support the permanent settlement, social stability and economic empowerment of returnee families, enabling them to restart their lives peacefully in their homeland, the statement concluded.
