KABUL (Pajhwok): A new health centre has been inaugurated at a cost of 8.9 million afghanis in the Ghaziabad district of eastern Kunar province, the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) announced on Wednesday. The ministry said the facility would provide healthcare services to between 3,000 and 5,000 people. In a statement, the ministry said the Hil Gul Health Centre was constructed with financial support from the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and through the efforts of the Kunar Public Health Directorate. According to the statement, the facility will provide local residents with access to healthcare services in a standard-purpose building, benefiting an estimated 3,000 to 5,000 people. The ministry said the inauguration ceremony was attended by a number of local officials, Kunar Public Health Director Qari Muzaffar Khan Mukhlis, and local residents. Speaking at the event, Mukhlis stressed the importance of delivering quality healthcare services to the public and pledged that efforts to expand access to health services across the province would continue.
