KABUL (Pajhwok): US President Donald Trump’s approval rating has fallen to its lowest level of his current presidency, with most Americans also expecting the US conflict with Iran to continue for a long time, according to a Reuters/Ipsos poll. The poll, conducted over four days and concluded Monday, found that 33 percent of Americans approved of Trump’s performance, while 64 percent disapproved, Reuters reported. His approval rating was down from 35 percent earlier this month and matched the lowest level recorded during his first term in December 2017. Trump’s popularity has declined this year following US strikes on Iran alongside Israel. The conflict has disrupted global oil trade and pushed up gasoline prices in the US, putting additional pressure on households ahead of the November 3 midterm elections. About 80 percent of respondents said they believed US involvement in Iran would continue for an extended period, including 87 percent of Democrats and 71 percent of Republicans.
