KABUL (Pajhwok): Russia has warned Britain of “consequences” following reports that Ukraine has used British-made drones in long-range attacks inside Russia, while London says it will continue supporting Ukraine. Sky News, citing a statement from the Russian Embassy in London, reported that the embassy said the alleged use of British drones showed that Britain had chosen a path of escalating the war in Ukraine while claiming to seek peace. The embassy warned that Britain’s actions would have “consequences” and said the deeper London became involved in the conflict, the higher the “price” it would pay. In response, the UK Ministry of Defence said Britain stood “shoulder to shoulder” with Ukraine and would continue providing Kyiv with the equipment it needs to defend itself against Russian attacks. The ministry said Russia should have no doubt about the UK government’s determination to counter Russian actions in Ukraine and against Britain and its allies. Sky News, citing a report by The Times, said Ukraine had been using British-made drones in long-range strikes inside Russia for about six months. The attacks reportedly targeted oil refineries in Russia’s Yaroslavl and Volgograd regions. The BBC also quoted an informed military source as saying that British drones had been used to strike targets inside Russia.
