2,600 families gain access to safe drinking water in Nimroz — Pajhwok

ZARANJ (Pajhwok): Three water supply and sanitation networks costing 12 million afghanis have been completed and inaugurated in Khashrod district of northwestern Nimroz province, providing about 2,600 families with access to safe drinking water. Mawlawi Asadullah “Sahar,” head of Nimroz’s Rural Rehabilitation and Development Department, said at an inauguration ceremony that the projects were implemented by the Solidarity organisation in the villages of Khairabad, Razi and Burj in Khashrod district in coordination with his department. He said the projects, which cost more than 12 million afghanis, were completed within six months and have provided 2,599 families with access to clean drinking water. Sahar urged residents of Khashrod to help protect and maintain the water supply networks. Meanwhile, Khashrod district chief Haji Mulla Gul Nabi “Nafiz” welcomed the projects and assured the organisations involved of the district administration’s full cooperation in implementing development projects.
