Afghan, Iranian postal chiefs discuss expanding cooperation — Pajhwok

KABUL (Pajhwok): Afghan Post chief executive officer (CEO) and his Iranian counterpart discussed ways to expand postal cooperation between the two countries. Mawlawi Mohammad Nabi Bahar, spokesman for the General Directorate of State-Owned Companies, said Mawlawi Rahmatullah Makki, CEO of Afghan Post, met Mohammad Ahmadi, CEO of Iran Post, on the sidelines of the 14th Congress of the Asian-Pacific Postal Union (APPU). The two officials discussed expanding postal cooperation, exchanging experiences and strengthening joint initiatives, Bahar said. He added that the meeting also covered potential cooperation in e-commerce, air and land transit services, and other postal services. According to Bahar, the two sides agreed on the need to improve the quality of postal services, exchange professional expertise and capabilities, and continue joint cooperation. He said an Afghan Post delegation will travel to Iran in the near future at the official invitation of the Iranian government. The delegation will meet with Iran Post officials to discuss further expansion of postal cooperation.
