614kg of dugs seized in Nimroz, 2 arrested — Pajhwok

ZARANJ (Pajhwok): Security forces in southwestern Nimroz province have seized 614 kilograms of various drugs and arrested two suspects, an official said on Friday. Mawlawi Gul Mohammad Qudrat, spokesman for the Nimroz security command, told Pajhwok Afghan News that the drugs were seized during routine patrols in the Dasht-i-Margow area. The haul included 442 kilograms of opium, 96 kilograms of methamphetamine, 59 kilograms of heroin and 17 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine, he said. Qudrat said two people were arrested in connection with the case and handed over, along with the seized drugs, to the provincial counter-narcotics department for further investigation. A Toyota pickup truck was also seized during the operation, he added.
