KABUL (Pajhwok): At least 30 people, including eight children, have been killed and four others wounded after armed men attacked a village in Nigeria’s northwestern Kaduna state, a media report said on Tuesday. Reuters reported the attack took place early on Monday in the Dogon Rana area, where gunmen stormed the community, opened fire indiscriminately and set houses ablaze. Ishaya Dawa, a local youth representative, said the attackers entered the village around midnight, opened fire on residents and also killed some of the victims with bladed weapons. He said most of the victims were women, children and elderly people, adding that the bodies of some of those killed had been taken to a mortuary. Reuters, quoting local residents, reported that security forces arrived at the scene on Monday morning, several hours after the attack had ended. No group has so far claimed responsibility for the attack, the report added.
