KABUL (Pajhwok): Israeli airstrikes on a village in southern Lebanon killed at least 12 people, including two children and four women and wounded several others, Lebanon’s Health Ministry said. The Associated Press reported that Israel’s air force carried out two airstrikes early Monday on the village of Kfar Rumman amid renewed tensions between Israel and the Hezbollah group. Lebanon’s Health Ministry said one of the strikes targeted a building, killing 11 people, including two children and four women and wounding eight others, including three children and a paramedic. The ministry said a separate strike on a vehicle in the same village killed a paramedic affiliated with Lebanon’s Islamic Risala Scout Association and wounded two other people. The Israeli military said the strikes were carried out in response to two Hezbollah drone attacks targeting Israeli troops in Lebanon. It said one of the targets was a Hezbollah militant who was attempting to transfer weapons to Kfar Rumman. Hezbollah has not claimed responsibility for the drone attacks and did not immediately comment on the latest Israeli strikes. The strikes came a day after Israeli attacks in southern Lebanon killed at least seven people and destroyed an empty hospital.
