2 killed in military helicopter crash in Texas — Pajhwok

KABUL (Pajhwok): Two US soldiers have been killed after an Apache military helicopter crashed in Texas, US media reported. Reuters reported that the incident occurred on Wednesday in Bell County, about 100 kilometres north of Austin, the state capital. According to the report, the AH-64 Apache helicopter, which belonged to Fort Hood, crashed while conducting an operation in the area. Local officials said grassland surrounding the crash site caught fire following the incident, prompting the deployment of several firefighting teams to contain the blaze. Fort Hood confirmed the helicopter crash and the deaths of the two soldiers in a statement. However, the identities of the victims will not be released until their families have been notified. Texas Governor Greg Abbott also confirmed the crash in Bell County and the deaths of the two soldiers. The cause of the crash has not yet been determined.
