209 Afghan families return from Iran, Pakistan — Pajhwok

KABUL (Pajhwok): A total of 209 Afghan families, comprising 1,017 people, returned to Afghanistan from neighbouring Iran and Pakistan in a single day, an official said Wednesday. Mullah Hamdullah Fitrat, deputy spokesman for the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA), shared a report by the Commission for Addressing the Problems of Afghan Refugees on his X account. According to the commission, 95 families, comprising 536 people, returned to Afghanistan and were registered through the Torkham crossing. The commission said 84 families, comprising 441 people, were transported from Torkham to Nangarhar, Kunar, Laghman and Kabul provinces, with more than 3.75 million afghanis provided to cover their transportation costs. Meanwhile, 31 families, comprising 142 people, returned to Afghanistan through the Spin Boldak crossing in Kandahar province. Officials said 22 families, comprising 108 people, were transported to various provinces, with more than 286,000 afghanis provided to cover their transportation costs. The commission added that 228,000 afghanis in cash assistance was provided to 30 families at Spin Boldak, while food, healthcare and telecommunications services were also provided. According to the report, 75 families, comprising 253 people, returned through the Silk Bridge in Nimroz province. In addition, 1,255 individual travellers returned through the crossing.
