KABUL (Pajhwok): Afghanistan’s three-member boxing team travelled to Japan on Tuesday to participate in the 20th Asian Olympic Games. In a statement, the General Directorate of Olympic, Physical Education and Sports said the country’s boxing team comprises one athlete, one coach and one team manager, who left for Japan this morning to participate in the competitions. It said the boxing team was leaving for the competitions at a time when 34 Afghan athletes are scheduled to participate in nine different sports at the 20th Asian Olympic Games. The competitions will be held from September 19 to October 4 this year in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, with athletes from 45 Asian countries competing in 41 sports.
