KABUL (Pajhwok): The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) has signed a $368,870 agreement with the Afghan Youth Services Organization (AYSO) to reduce the prevalence of stunting and other forms of malnutrition in central Logar province. In a statement, the ministry said the three-year agreement aims to improve the quality of healthcare services, expand public access to healthcare and reduce health problems in the province. Under the agreement, healthcare services will be provided to 11,916 residents through 13 health centres and 50 health posts. The project will also create 108 jobs in the health sector. AYSO representatives pledged to implement the project over three years in line with established standards and give particular attention to meeting the healthcare needs of local residents.
