5 killed, 16 killed in Helmand highway crash — Pajhwok

KABUL (Pajhwok): At least five people were killed and 16 others injured in a traffic accident on the Kandahar–Herat Highway in southern Helmand province on Friday. The accident occurred in the Shorab area of Washir district when a passenger bus collided with a trailer truck, according to a statement from the media office of the 215 Azm Corps. Following the collision, a medical team from Shorab Field Hospital, led by the hospital’s commander, Alhaj Dr. Nematullah Amin, transported the injured to the facility for treatment. Women and children were among those injured. Dr. Amin said all 16 injured people had received the necessary medical care. The statement added that the bodies of the five victims were also transferred to Shorab Field Hospital. Authorities have not yet disclosed the cause of the crash or provided further details on the condition of the injured.
