KABUL (Pajhwok): At least five people have been killed and as many others wounded after an Amazon cargo plane crashed while landing at Miami International Airport in the United States, a media report said on Monday. Al Jazeera, quoting the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), reported that a Boeing 767-300 overran the runway at 2:00pm ET (18:00 GMT) on Sunday while arriving from San Juan, Puerto Rico. It said the aircraft had been flying from San Juan, the capital of Puerto Rico, to Miami. Five people were killed and as many others injured in the crash, three of whom were in critical condition, while the other two were hospitalised with less severe injuries, Miami-Dade County officials said at a news conference. The department said more than 60 fire and rescue units were working to extinguish the blaze and assess the condition of those affected. Fire Rescue Chief Ray Jadallah said some people were trapped inside vehicles following the crash. The pilot and co-pilot were also trapped inside the plane. It was not clear how many crew members or passengers were on board. He added that firefighters continued to deal with fuel leaking from the aircraft several hours after the crash.
