KABUL (Pajhwok): Seven Afghan migrants have been killed and nine others injured in a traffic accident in Iran’s Sistan and Baluchestan province, Iranian media and a human rights group reported. The accident involved a vehicle carrying Afghan nationals and a fuel tanker and occurred on the Iranshahr-Jakigour road in Sarbaz County, according to the reports. The human rights group Halwash said all seven people killed and nine injured were Afghan migrants. Tasnim, quoting Siavash Mohbi, head of Iran’s Road Police, reported that the accident occurred at around 8am on Friday, Sept. 18, on the 15th kilometer of the Sarbaz road. He said a Peugeot 405 collided head-on with a Zamyad vehicle carrying diesel. Initial investigations showed that the Peugeot was carrying several Afghan nationals. Tasnim reported that seven people were killed and nine others injured in the accident. The injured were taken to health facilities for treatment. The agency did not provide further details about the identities or nationalities of those killed and injured.
