TİKA equips Ghor public library, museum — Pajhwok

FIROZKOH (Pajhwok): The Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) has equipped the public library and museum of the Ghor Department of Information and Culture with new facilities, officials said on Thursday. Mawlawi Abdul Hay Zaeem, head of the department, said that, in addition to new equipment for the public library, suitable facilities had been provided to improve the preservation and protection of the museum’s historical and archaeological artifacts. He said the new equipment would provide visitors with better access to reading materials and help ensure the proper preservation of historical artifacts. Zaeem called on TİKA to continue its cooperation and support for the Ghor Department of Information and Culture in various cultural fields. Meanwhile, Kurshad Özdemir, head of TİKA’s office in Herat, said the agency had always sought to support Afghanistan’s academic and cultural institutions through various assistance projects. He said, with financial support from TİKA, the Ghor public library and museum had been equipped with new bookshelves and tables, a laptop for creating a database of books, and 18 specialized cabinets fitted with special lighting for preserving historical and archaeological artifacts.
