KABUL (Pajhwok): Four crew members and two Yemeni rescuers have been killed and 10 others injured in separate attacks in and around Yemen’s waters, while the US military said it had disabled a container ship in the Gulf of Oman. Reuters reported that Houthi fighters attacked the cargo ship Tihama in the Bab al-Mandab Strait on Tuesday. Yemen’s Ministry of Transport said three Pakistani nationals and one Indonesian national among the ship’s crew were killed in the attack. Yemen’s coastguard said two rescuers affiliated with the National Resistance Forces, an anti-Houthi group, were also killed after arriving at the scene to assist those affected during a second Houthi attack. Ten other people were injured. The Houthis said they had targeted the vessel because it was carrying Saudi military equipment in the Bab al-Mandab Strait. In a separate incident, US Central Command (CENTCOM) said it had disabled the navigation equipment of the Panama-flagged container ship Villa Nova in the Gulf of Oman by firing two Hellfire missiles. CENTCOM said the vessel was heading towards an Iranian port and had ignored repeated US warnings to stop.
