KABUL (Pajhwok): The Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) has said that two of its vessels came under attack on Thursday while transiting the Strait of Hormuz, but no one was injured in the incident. According to Reuters, officials in the United Arab Emirates have accused Iran of carrying out the attack. Tehran has not yet commented on the allegation. ADNOC said the situation had been brought under control and that no injuries were reported. The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs described the incident as an “Iranian hostile attack” and accused Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) of committing “acts of piracy” by targeting commercial vessels. The ministry said using the Strait of Hormuz as a “tool of pressure or economic blackmail” posed a direct threat to regional stability and global energy security. However, the UAE state news agency and the Foreign Ministry did not provide further details about the names of the vessels, their cargo or the extent of any possible damage. Iran’s Foreign Ministry and the IRGC have not yet commented on the allegations.
