KABUL (Pajhwok): The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) says 128 pharmacies were closed in various parts of Kabul last month for violating regulations, including operating without legal documents, unauthorised relocation and failing to meet management and pricing requirements. The ministry said in a statement that its monitoring and inspection teams inspected 721 pharmacies across Kabul during the month. Of those inspected, 22 pharmacies were closed for lacking legal documents, four for unauthorised relocation, 20 for operating without a technical manager and 34 for failing to display price stickers on medicines. The ministry said another 48 pharmacies were closed for possessing medicines manufactured by GSK. A total of 708 items of GSK medicines and smuggled drugs were confiscated and transferred to a designated location for destruction, it added. GSK is a British pharmaceutical company that develops and manufactures medicines and vaccines.
