KABUL (Pajhwok): Afghanistan defeated Ireland by three wickets in the third match of their five-match One-Day International (ODI) series today. The match was played in Ireland, where Afghanistan won the toss and elected to bowl first. Ireland were bowled out for 206 runs in 46.3 overs. Rashid Khan and Allah Mohammad Ghazanfar claimed three wickets each for Afghanistan, while Yamin Ahmadzai took two. Fazalhaq Farooqi and Azmatullah Omarzai picked up one wicket apiece. Chasing a target of 207, Afghanistan reached the required total in 45 overs, losing seven wickets in the process, to secure a three-wicket victory. Rahmanullah Gurbaz top-scored for Afghanistan with 71 runs, while Rashid Khan contributed 37, Sediq Atal 27 and Hashmatullah Shahidi 22. The victory means Afghanistan have now defeated Ireland in both the second and third matches of the series.
