Afghanistan, Turkmenistan discuss expediting 500kV power transmission project — Pajhwok
KABUL (Pajhwok): Da Afghanistan Breshna Shirkat (DABS) says Afghan and Turkmen officials have discussed expediting work on a 500kV power transmission project between the two countries and the implementation of several other projects. DABS said in a statement today (Saturday) that Mullah Abdul Haq Hamkar, the company’s chief executive officer, met with Murad Artikoff, head of the TAP project, and his accompanying delegation at his office. The statement said the two sides held detailed discussions on accelerating work on the 500kV power transmission project and its progress, as well as the implementation of several other projects. The Turkmen side welcomed the acceleration of work and early completion of the 500kV transmission line project, saying it would facilitate the transfer of more electricity from Turkmenistan to Afghanistan. The sides also discussed completing the remaining work on the Noor-ul-Jihad substation in Herat province, supplying electricity to Bala Murghab district of Badghis province and ways to implement the TAP project. According to the statement, the Turkmen delegation expressed interest in the early implementation of the TAP project and said the initial roadmap for the project would be approved in the near future.
