Afghanistan XI thrash Uzbekistan by 199 runs in T20 match — Pajhwok

KHOST CITY (Pajhwok): Afghanistan XI defeated the Uzbekistan national cricket team by 199 runs in a Twenty20 match held in Khost province. The match was played on Friday at the Rahmat Wali Masroor Cricket Ground in Khost, with thousands of spectators in attendance. Batting first, Afghanistan XI posted a massive total of 323 runs for the loss of seven wickets in their allotted 20 overs. In reply, Uzbekistan’s national team could manage only 124 runs for the loss of seven wickets and fell well short of the target. Mohammad Nazim Jar Abdul Rahimzai, an official overseeing domestic cricket at the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB), told Pajhwok Afghan News that the ACB and the Uzbekistan Cricket Federation have signed a cooperation agreement aimed at promoting the development of cricket in Uzbekistan through Afghanistan’s experience and resources. He said the friendly match between the two teams was held as part of the agreement and marked an important step toward strengthening cricket ties between the two neighboring countries. “The Afghanistan Cricket Board will use its capabilities to support the development of Uzbekistan’s cricket federation.
