Afghanistan’s first wrestling premier league begins — Pajhwok

KABUL (Pajhwok): The first edition of Afghanistan’s Wrestling Premier League has started in Kabul with the participation of 10 teams from various provinces. The General Directorate of Olympic, Physical Education and Sports said in a statement that the competitions are being held at its 2,500-seat gymnasium, where athletes will compete in different weight categories ranging from 57kg to 125kg. The statement said 10 teams from across the country are participating in the league. It added that the best performers would be identified at the end of the competitions, which aim to discover and promote wrestling talents nationwide. According to the directorate, the competitions will continue for 10 days.
