Alcohol production factory destroyed in Jawzjan — Pajhwok

SHIBERGHAN (Pajhwok): Security forces have discovered and destroyed an alcohol production factory in the capital of northern Jawzjan province, an official said on Saturday. Police spokesman Qari Abdul Sattar Halimi said two people, including a man and a woman, were also arrested in connection with the factory. He added that 4.5 litres of pure alcohol and 55 litres of fermented raisins were seized from the facility. Meanwhile, in a separate operation, the provincial Counter-Narcotics Department arrested four people for alleged drug trafficking and seized 545 grams of hashish and 50 narcotic pills. The department also collected 11 drug addicts from various parts of Shiberghan and referred them to a 1,000-bed drug treatment camp in Balkh province.
