KABUL (Pajhwok): Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi says there is no obstacle within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to issuing visas for Afghan nationals and that the process can be facilitated for genuine applicants, particularly medical tourists. According to Iranian news agency ISNA, Araghchi made the remarks on Saturday during a meeting with officials of Razavi Khorasan province. “The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has no obstacle to issuing visas for Afghan nationals and is ready to facilitate the visa process for genuine applicants, particularly medical tourists,” he said. He said specific systems and procedures should be developed for medical tourism applicants so that eligible individuals could enter Iran more easily. Araghchi added that the Foreign Ministry was ready to provide the necessary cooperation to facilitate the process. He said many issues between Iran and neighbouring countries, particularly those related to border areas, could be resolved more easily and quickly at the provincial level than through the capitals. Referring to Razavi Khorasan’s potential for engagement with Afghanistan, Turkmenistan and Pakistan, Araghchi said the province had the necessary authority to expand trade relations and facilitate travel and movement with neighbouring countries.
