Araghchi travels to Oman for talks on Strait of Hormuz — Pajhwok

KABUL (Pajhwok): Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has travelled to Muscat for talks with Omani officials on arrangements for managing the Strait of Hormuz and regional developments. According to Iran’s IRNA news agency, Araghchi arrived in Oman on Saturday at the head of a diplomatic delegation and is expected to discuss bilateral relations, the management of the Strait of Hormuz and regional issues with Omani officials. Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei said the visit was a continuation of consultations with Oman over the past one to two months regarding the Strait of Hormuz. He added that the issue of the Strait of Hormuz was among the key topics covered in the memorandum of understanding on ending the war. Araghchi’s visit comes as the security and administration of the Strait of Hormuz have in recent months become a point of dispute between Iran and the United States.
