Drone attack on Colombian military base kills 3 soldiers, injures 16 — Pajhwok

KABUL (Pajhwok): Three soldiers have been killed and at least 16 others injured in a drone attack on a military base in northern Colombia, military officials said. Al Jazeera reported that the Colombian Army said in a statement that the attack targeted a military base in the town of Santa Rosa del Sur, located in the foothills of the San Lucas mountain range. No group has so far claimed responsibility for the attack, and Colombian authorities have not identified those behind it, the report said. The area is rich in gold deposits and has long been contested by several armed groups seeking to establish control over the territory, it added. Meanwhile, Colombian President Abelardo de la Espriella responded to the attack in a post on his X account, saying: “Those behind this attack will have nowhere to hide.” He added that every attack on soldiers further strengthened the government’s resolve to defend Colombia.
