Herat exports 6 tankers worth $1.5m to Uzbekistan — Pajhwok

HERAT (Pajhwok): A tanker manufacturing company in western Herat province has exported six empty, Afghan-made tankers worth $1.5 million to Uzbekistan. The tankers were manufactured in accordance with international criteria and standards. Under a signed contract, a total of 51 tankers are due to be exported to Uzbekistan, the governor’s office said in a statement. It said the shipment demonstrated the capacity of domestic industrial production, which could pave the way for expanding Afghanistan’s exports to regional countries. Herat is one of Afghanistan’s major economic and industrial provinces and the development of manufacturing industries there could help increase exports and expand markets for domestic products.
