IEA announces new appointments in ministries, Badakhshan, Sar-i-Pul — Pajhwok

KABUL (Pajhwok): The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) has appointed new governors for Badakhshan and Sar-I-Pul provinces, a police chief for Badakhshan and senior officials to key posts in the Ministries of Interior Affairs and Public Works. IEA chief spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said in a post on X that the appointments were made under a decree by the IEA leadership. Mullah Rahmatullah Najib, former administrative deputy minister of Interior Affairs, has been appointed governor of Badakhshan, while Mullah Bakhtiar Muaz, former governor of Laghman, will serve as governor of Sar-i-Pul. Mullah Ahmad Shah Deendost, former governor of Sar-i-Pul, has been appointed police chief of Badakhshan. Mullah Abdul Jabbar Muawin, former deputy minister for road maintenance at the Ministry of Public Works, has been appointed administrative deputy minister of Interior Affairs. Mawlavi Mohammad Ismail Ghaznawi, former governor of Badakhshan, has been appointed deputy minister for road maintenance at the Ministry of Public Works. Mawlavi Abdul Basir Mazhari, former police chief of Badakhshan, has been appointed head of the Public Works Department in Kandahar province.
