IEA announces new appointments to ministries, provincial administrations — Pajhwok

KABUL (Pajhwok): New appointments have been made to a number of ministries, provincial administrations and government institutions under a fresh decree issued by the supreme leader of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA). In a post on X, IEA chief spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said former Jawzjan police chief Qari Mohammad Ismail Rasikh has been appointed governor of the same province. He said Mullah Abdul Karim Nafiz, former deputy commander of the 217 Omari Army Corps, has been appointed Jawzjan police chief, while Mullah Abdullah Sarhadi, former governor of Jawzjan, has been named deputy commander of the 217 Omari Army Corps. Mujahid added that ex-Kandahar University chancellor Sheikh Abdul Rahman Tayebi has been appointed deputy minister of information and culture. He said Sheikh Abdul Rahman Ghaznawi, a former member of the Supreme Court’s Darul Ifta Directorate, has been named chancellor of Kandahar University. Ex-Deputy Minister of Information and Culture Mawlawi Atiqullah Azizi has been appointed Director of Information and Culture for Herat province, the IEA spokesman concluded.
