India to continue supporting Afghanistan, vows Modi — Pajhwok

KABUL (Pajhwok): Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi says India has supported the Afghan people through development and humanitarian assistance and will continue its support. According to The Indian Express, Modi made the remarks today (Tuesday) at the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan. “India has supported Afghanistan through development and humanitarian assistance and will continue to do so,” he said. Modi added that the shared goal of building a peaceful and secure Eurasia was closely linked to stability in Afghanistan. The annual SCO summit is being held in Bishkek on August 31 and September 1, 2026. The summit marks the 26th meeting of SCO leaders and coincides with the 25th anniversary of the organisation’s establishment.
