KABUL (Pajhwok): At least eight Palestinians have been killed in Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip as Israel continues to violate a nearly year-old “ceasefire,” Palestinian officials and media reported. Gaza’s Government Media Office said Palestinian journalist Muhammad Abdel Aziz al-Najjar was among those killed on Wednesday, becoming the 263rd journalist killed by Israel since October 2023, Al Jazeera reported. Separately, six Palestinians were martyred in an Israeli drone strike on a passenger van in Tal al-Hawa, southwest of Gaza City, according to witnesses and medical sources. The Palestine Red Crescent Society said its crews transported 13 wounded people to al-Quds Hospital, with some reportedly in critical condition. The Wafa news agency reported that an Israeli strike near al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City martyred at least one woman. Four Palestinians, including two children, were also wounded when an Israeli drone struck a shelter for displaced people in southern Gaza. Meanwhile, Gaza’s Ministry of Health said nine bodies had arrived at hospitals over the previous 24 hours, including eight people martyred in recent attacks and a woman who died of earlier wounds. It said the number of Palestinians martyred since the Israeli-Hamas “ceasefire” has reached at least 1,431.
