Man arrested over jewellery shop theft in Badakhshan — Pajhwok

KABUL (Pajhwok): The Ministry of Interior says a man has been arrested on suspicion of stealing from a jewellery shop in northeastern Badakhshan province, with one kilogramme of gold, two kilogrammes of silver, 70 mobile phones and other stolen valuables recovered from him. In a post on X, the ministry said security forces in Nasy district, with support from intelligence personnel from Kufaab district, arrested the suspect in connection with the theft. According to the ministry, the suspect was identified and detained on Friday while in possession of the stolen items. The ministry said the recovered property included 70 mobile phones, one kilogramme of gold, two kilogrammes of silver, jewellery and other valuables. Security officials said investigations into the case are ongoing.
