KABUL (Pajhwok): Ukraine launched more than 400 drones targeting Moscow and surrounding areas, wounding 10 people and damaging several residential buildings and civilian facilities, Russian officials said on Monday. The Associated Press reported that Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said the drones targeted the Russian capital and nearby areas from Sunday evening until early Monday. He said most of the drones were destroyed before reaching the city, while 85 others were intercepted near Moscow. Moscow region Governor Andrei Vorobyov said 10 people were injured and several residential buildings and civilian facilities were damaged, but provided no further details. According to the report, the attacks also triggered fires at an industrial park in Domodedovo and an oil storage facility in Podolsk, both in the Moscow region. The drone attack came hours after Russia launched ballistic missiles and drones at Kyiv and other Ukrainian cities. Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said he would hold important talks on Monday to address the country’s domestic political crisis. The report said recent Cabinet reshuffles and differences between senior officials and a younger generation of leaders over the conduct of the war had heightened political tensions in Ukraine.
