KABUL (Pajhwok): Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and Türkiye signed a joint defence agreement in Mecca on Friday, pledging to strengthen collective deterrence and regard an armed attack against any one of the three countries as an attack against all. The agreement was signed amid escalating tensions in the Middle East, with Iran and its allies carrying out attacks on Saudi Arabia and other Gulf states following US and Israeli strikes on Iran on February 28. The “Mecca Joint Defence Agreement” aims to strengthen collective deterrence against acts of aggression, according to a joint statement issued by the three countries, Reuters reported.
